Arun Yadav to Lead Indo- China Youth delegation The Fourth Indo-China Youth delegation will be visiting China from 15th to 24th June, 2009 under Indo –China Youth Exchange Programme to further foster and enhance the continued youth-to-youth contact between the two countries and consolidate our long-standing bilateral relations over 55 years. Shri Arun Yadav, Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports will lead the 100 member Indian delegation. During their ten day stay in China, the delegation will visit Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou.

Shri Arun Yadav assumed charge as Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Arun Yadav assumed charge as Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, here today. In his interaction with the media persons, after assuming the charge Shri Yadav stated that his top priority would be to complete the constructions of all stadias for the Commonwealth Games well before the time. Shri Yadav said he along with Dr. M.S. Gill will review the progress of construction of stadia and other infrastructure projects with a view to know the current status of the projects.

Vice President to inaugurate National Youth Festival on Monday The Fourteenth National Youth Festival will be inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari on Monday at Amritisar. It is the first time that National Youth Festival would be held in Punjab from 12th – 16th January. Shri Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab will be presiding over the function. Dr. M.S. Gill, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports and Shri Gulzar Singh Ranike, Sports Minister, Punjab , will be the 'Guests of Honour' at the function.

Financial assistance to Scouts & Guides Increased

Financial assistance to Scouts & Guides Increased The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has enhanced the financial assistance to Bharat Scouts & Guides for organizing the training camps and holding of Jamborees etc. The increase in the financial assistance under the Scheme of Scouting & Guiding ranges between 40 to 50 percent of the prevailing norms. The Ministry will also provide higher allocation to the Bharat Scouts & Guides for Scouting and Guiding.
